If you haven't already guessed, this is a spoof site created and maintained by a bunch of people opposed to the Spring Valley Vista development in Elbert County.

There are currently 8,154 homes in Elbert County.  The proposed 5,466 homes to be built in Spring Valley Vista is almost 70% more homes, and on only 2,371 acres, each home site on 0.4 acres or less.  Current home sites are on 5 to 10 acres of land or more.

We're not opposed to growth.  We are opposed to irresponsible growth.  Building more homes than we can support is not responsible growth.  Elbert County can't currently protect its own citizens with fire or police protection, adding more than 5,000 more homes isn't going to help that situation.  Not to mention that we don't have the schools, the roads, or the snow removal equipment or expertise to handle such a massive influx.

It sure would be nice if our county commissioners could inspire some more commercial development so that we could keep people working in the county rather than leaving it every day.

As for the domain name, the people responsible for Spring Valley Vista didn't register this domain name, so I did.  Fair game.  They're not a corporation in Colorado, so they have no claim to this name, and no one else was using it.
