By no means is this complete, but we're working on a history of Spring Valley Vista and the attempts to get changes
in Elbert County to allow this kind of rampant growth that has happened in Arapahoe and Douglas Counties.
- 15 November 2006 - BOCC Meeting
- After a lot of off-the-record talking with the county attorney (don't ask how that happened in a state with
sunshine laws like Colorado has), the developer of Spring Valley Vista withdrew the proposed amendments to the
county plan.
- 9 November 2006 - Planning Commission Meeting
- 8 November 2006 - BOCC Meeting
- Spring Valley Vista tried to convince the BOCC that they were doing something illegal by having 1041 regulations
that required calculations of 0.4 acre feet/household and a 300-year aquifer plan because the state uses different
numbers. Yes, the state does use different numbers, but counties can use their own numbers as long as they're
not less than what the state uses.
